Blink Charging to Provide Charging Stations to the U.S. Postal Service

Alliances with key companies and agreements with renowned public institutions position Blink Charging as a prestigious provider of charging infrastructure on a global scale.

A few days ago, the company announced an agreement with the United States Postal Service (USPS) to provide electric vehicle charging stations and network solutions for the growing fleet.

USPS awarded Blink Charging an IDIQ contract to sell up to 41,500 EV charging units to support the service’s platform, in the interest of a cleaner and more sustainable operation.

Technology Applied

Blink will provide its Series 7 dual-port charger that features up to 80 amps of power at each port. These Level 2 fast AC units allow two vehicles to charge simultaneously at the Universal J1772 connector at 19.2 kW.

Meanwhile, NEMA 3R allows for flexible installation both indoors and outdoors. The compact form factor allows for ideal placement with wall or pedestal mounting options. The standard 18-foot charging cables (or optional 25-foot upgrade) can reach around any vehicle or between parking spaces, allowing greater flexibility for postal locations.

Step Toward Electrification

“We are honored to have been selected by the U.S. Postal Service to provide our reliable, advanced electric vehicle charging stations and ancillary network services for their growing fleet of electric vehicles,” stated Michael D. Farkas, Founder and CEO of Blink Charging.

“We applaud their efforts to modernize and move toward a sustainable and efficient electric fleet. The Postal Service’s recent announcement to purchase more electric vehicles and build the necessary charging infrastructure is another step in the development of a full transition to electric.

This move toward electrification sets a precedent that we hope all fleet owners will follow,” he stressed.

The company’s products and services include innovative management hardware and software that connect vehicles, drivers and electric vehicle chargers, and the ability to leverage existing electric vehicle charging infrastructure, maximize cost savings with energy management controls, and save on lifetime vehicle maintenance costs.
