In an effort to promote sustainable mobility, Paraguay continues to receive important advice from South Korean experts, who are setting the roadmap for the country to decarbonize and modernize its vehicle fleet.
The Asian government’s special envoy to Paraguay, Sang-Jik Yoon, reinforced the commitment to carry out ambitious projects.
According to the official, the consolidation of the “Suburban Train” plan in Paraguay, fruit of the alliance between both nations, is getting closer and closer.

Bilateral Commitment
At a recent Business Forum aimed at strengthening economic cooperation between Korea and Paraguay, Yoon gave his point of view assuring that the project will come to fruition.
Yoon, who has also served as South Korea’s Minister of Industry and Trade, emphasized his country’s deep interest in Paraguay’s potential.
He expressed the desire to move towards industrial production with 100% renewable energy, which evidences a commitment not only to economic development, but also to sustainability and respect for the environment.
This infrastructure project promises a broad transformation of mobility in Asunción and Greater Asunción. The Tren de Cercanías will provide an efficient and sustainable transportation solution, facilitating citizens’ daily commutes and significantly improving the quality of life in the region.
Rail transport will not only bring benefits in terms of mobility. It is destined to generate new urban development poles and boost the local economy, creating employment opportunities and fostering innovation and progress.
Yoon’s promise confirms the South Korean government’s intention to actively invest in Paraguay’s future.
