Asian companies continue to see Mexico as a great market to invest and explore business opportunities to promote electromobility in Latin America.
In this sense, Posco International Mexico E-Mobility invested 100 million dollars in a plant located in the “Chuy María” Industrial Park in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila.
According to Modern Machine Shop Mexico, the company produces motor cores for electric vehicles and is expected to generate more than 200 direct jobs.
Public-private Partnership
Jeong Tak, Posco’s President, thanked the government of Coahuila and the municipality of Ramos Arizpe for their support to consolidate this project, and asked them for support to continue with the investment process in the next stage of the company.
The executive highlighted the strategic location of Saltillo and Ramos Arizpe, as well as their logistical advantages.
For his part, the Korean Ambassador, Tae Wan Heo, assured that the economic relationship between Korea and Mexico is becoming more and more consolidated, and expressed his gratitude to the state of Coahuila and Ramos Arizpe for their invaluable support in the construction process of Posco.

Governor Miguel Ángel Riquelme assured Posco’s directors that the indicators that made them make this decision will continue to improve.
“Coahuila will continue to grow and will be ready and available to continue receiving and expanding foreign and local investment,” he said.
Riquelme said that Coahuila has already started producing electric cars thanks to companies like Posco.
Latam Mobility Starts 2024 in Mexico
Mexico is emerging as one of the strongest markets in the promotion of sustainable mobility in Latin America. After the successful meeting in Mexico City, Latam Mobility returns in 2024 to Monterrey.
It will be a meeting scheduled for February 8, with the participation of the most prestigious companies of the continent, along with representatives of the public sector to provide perspectives on sustainable mobility and electromobility.
