Hyundai Joins Forces with Healthy Seas and Ghost Diving USA to Foster Ocean Sustainability

Hyundai Motor America has embarked on a groundbreaking venture, aligning with non-profit organizations Healthy Seas and Ghost Diving USA, both committed to preserving our oceans. This strategic collaboration aims to bolster their diving initiatives along the Southern California coast, concentrating on the cleanup of oceans and the retrieval of discarded fishing nets contributing to the alarming issue of marine pollution.

The retrieved fishing nets and other nylon waste undergo a transformative process, becoming ECONYL—a regenerated nylon thread utilized in the production of new textile products. Going beyond financial support, this partnership will also organize beach-cleaning events across California in 2024.

The collaboration set sail on December 9 with a beach cleaning event at Huntington Beach State Park. This marks a significant stride in Hyundai’s unwavering dedication to sustainability and its overarching global vision to propel human progress.
