Blink Charging announced a partnership with Grupo Q, official Porsche dealer in El Salvador, with which it will launch five advanced electric vehicle charging stations in stores and restaurants.

According to an official statement, the launch of Blink chargers is part of Porsche’s Destination Charging program, a global initiative of the German brand to expand and ensure charging infrastructure for electrified cars worldwide.

These chargers are strategically placed in exclusive, high-demand locations such as hotels, restaurants, golf clubs, retail stores and marinas.

In El Salvador, Blink’s chargers will be publicly accessible to all EV drivers in the region.

Patricia Baires, LATAM Business Development Manager for Blink Charging, emphasized that they are strategically preparing in Latin America for an electrified future.

“El Salvador is a key part of the effort we are making. As El Salvador moves towards electrification, we are honored and excited to have been chosen and to have the confidence of Grupo Q to offer reliable and accessible charging options,” said the executive.

For his part, Roberto Renderos, Director of Porsche El Salvador, said they are convinced that offering convenient charging solutions are a key factor in making electric mobility a great experience for the customer.

“The installation of Blink chargers reflects our commitment to innovation and the well-being of our customers,” he said.

Blink will deploy its Level 2 (L2) alternating current (AC) fast charging stations, the IQ 200 chargers, capable of delivering up to 80 amps of output, providing approximately 65 miles of charge in just one hour.

The IQ 200s feature the SAE J1772 charging connector and support a variety of convenient payment options and major credit cards, making them an ideal choice for retail and restaurant locations.

Through Blink’s secure and easy-to-use mobile app, Porsche drivers and other EV drivers will be able to easily locate the nearest charging stations, check their availability and initiate a charge the easy way.
