Enel X Unveils Electric Bus for ATP Chile Open 2024

Enel X presented an impressive electric bus that will be used for the free transportation of attendees to the most important tennis event in the country, the ATP Chile Open 2024.

The bus will travel to and from the Los Domínicos Metro station. People who take this option will be able to travel in a comfortable and modern zero-emission vehicle, which will have four schedules for one-way trips to the sports venue and four return trips to the subway.

The service will be provided until the final day, to be held on Sunday, March 3. The King Long bus, operated by Vivipra, has a capacity for 44 seated and standing passengers (one for wheelchairs), air conditioning, Wi-Fi, security cameras and USB charging ports.

Working Together

Enel X details in a press release that for this activation the logistical support of Metro de Santiago and the Municipality of Las Condes, who provided the space for the attendees to board the bus from Los Dominicos station, was fundamental.

The presentation of the Enel X electric bus was attended by the Municipal Administrator of the Municipality of Las Condes, Juan Manuel Masferrer; the Movistar Chile Open 2024 Director, Catalina Fillol; the General Manager of Enel X, Karla Zapata; the Commercial Manager of Vivipra, Enzo Cruces, and the tennis player, recent ATP Tour winner in Córdoba (Argentina), the Italian Luciano Darderi, current number 76 in the ATP ranking.

They all participated in the first electric charge of the bus, which took place at the same venue, and then enjoyed a tour aboard the vehicle inside the facilities of the Universidad Católica sports club, in San Carlos de Apoquindo.

The tournament Director, Catalina Fillol, said that “part of our objective is to improve people’s quality of life and also to highlight our city. We are a 360° event that incorporates sports, entertainment, social aspects and seeks to be increasingly sustainable”.

“Undoubtedly, having the Enel X electric bus is a contribution to achieve the goal of becoming a zero waste tournament. In addition, it is an action that will bring everyone closer to this sport, as well as reducing the environmental impact and caring for the planet,” she explained.
