Electric vehicle charger company Wallbox received a $5.2 million tax credit from the U.S. Department of Energy to expand its plant in Arlington, Texas.
With this funding, the company plans to create new electric charger assembly lines and a validation laboratory.
According to an Energy Newspaper report, Wallbox expects the plant’s capacity to exceed one million chargers per year by 2030 and, at the end of the expansion, to be able to produce its full range of charging solutions designed for the North American market.

North American Operations
Wallbox CEO and Co-Founder Enric Asunción expressed a commitment to expanding the company’s presence in the United States, as it will allow them to make further investments in the company’s manufacturing capacity.
Companies benefiting from the ’48C’ program must meet requirements such as pre-established salaries and participate in training programs.
In this sense, Wallbox has highlighted the strong competition to access the funds, which were finally awarded to the Spanish company.
It should be noted that the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden has been largely characterized by important initiatives in electromobility.
Through investment plans, the White House has approved a series of incentives for the installation of electric chargers, as well as promoting the assembly of electric vehicles in the country.
