Scania, the Swedish brand driving the change towards a sustainable transport system in Colombia, announced the arrival of Mauricio de Alba as its new CEO to head the company’s operation in the country, a position he assumed as of May 1, 2024.
In a press release, Scania notes that de Alba arrives to bring knowledge and strategies with his extensive experience in the heavy transport sector and his great background in the industry.

“I receive this great responsibility with deep appreciation and professionalism, my goal is to contribute to the development of transport solutions increasingly committed to reducing our carbon footprint, while meeting the demands of our customers in a profitable and sustainable way,” the executive stressed.
He affirmed his commitment to the company by detailing that he will always be focused on meeting the established goals. “I am motivated to work for and with the transportation industry in Colombia, always offering the best experience to Colombian carriers while creating a world of mobility that is better for business, society and the environment,” said De Alba.
High profile
Mauricio de Alba is a Computer Engineer specialized in end-user applications, his professional career in the company began at Scania Mexico, where he served in different positions over 15 years.
He was Truck Sales Director, Retail Director, Commercial and Dealer Development Director and Commercial Support Specialist, where he had the opportunity to work in the International Performance Improvement Program for the markets of Argentina, Chile, Peru and Brazil.
During those years, he acquired a high knowledge of the heavy transport industry in the region, focusing on the strategic growth of the dealer network, the sale of vehicles to retail and corporate fleets, the workshop processes and the after-sales service characteristic of the organization.
Latam Mobility in Colombia
Latam Mobility, the largest sustainable mobility community in Latin America, will be back in Medellin for its 2024 meeting.
The two-day event, on June 5 and 6, will bring together top industry leaders, along with public sector personalities, to offer their perspectives on advances in sustainable mobility, electromobility and sustainability.
The Orquideorama Botanical Garden of Medellin will be the stage for launches, news, projects and networking, with the aim of boosting sustainable investments in Latin America.
