From Visionaries to Leaders: Blink Charging’s Evolution and Commitment in the Market

Blink Charging has excelled in the manufacturing and marketing of electric vehicle chargers, as well as in the development of the software that powers these chargers. The company’s global expansion spans over 30 countries, each with a business model tailored to the specific needs of the region.

During one of the meetings organized by Latam Mobility, Patricia Baires, Business Development Latin America Manager, emphasized that Latin America has been an especially challenging but rewarding region due to the demands and diversity of its markets.

“When Blink Charging entered Latin America, we didn’t anticipate the complexity we would encounter, but we also discovered a world full of opportunities beyond the United States,” she said.

Baires reflected on the evolution of the electric vehicle charger industry in the region. The fundamental question was whether more electric vehicles were needed on the roads before investing in electric infrastructure or vice versa.

Thus, Blink Charging’s investment has focused on improving charging infrastructure, a challenging task in Latin America due to the region’s complexity, which presents different types of connectors in each country.

Adapting to this diversity has required significant investments in developing technology and obtaining specific certifications for the region.

The company has invested in Asian, European, and, of course, American connectors, including those for popular Tesla vehicles. Although Latin America may not yet be the most attractive region for all vehicle manufacturers, Blink Charging is prepared for any evolution in connector types.
