The Technological University of Morelia, Mexico (UTM) opened its second enrollment period for high school graduates interested in the Electromobility program, with the quarter starting on September 9th.
The program’s deputy director, Mintzirani Equihua Sánchez, noted in a review by the local media Michoacán, that the academic program aims to train professionals specialized in the transportation sector in Michoacán.
During the 2023-2024 cycle, the sale of hybrid vehicles in Mexico increased by 73%, according to data from the Mexican Automotive Industry Association.

Clean means of transportation
Sánchez explained that the Electromobility program aims to train professionals to promote projects such as cable cars, metro buses, and other electrification trends; as well as drones, electric bicycles, motorcycles, scooters, and utility vehicles.
The program focuses on service, maintenance, management, development, and innovation in electric vehicles.
In Michoacán and neighboring states, there are active innovation ecosystems in the area of electromobility, offering professional development opportunities for students.
Latam Mobility in Mexico
As part of the efforts to promote sustainable mobility in Mexico and the region, Latam Mobility, the mobility initiative of the Invest in Latam network, will hold a meeting in Mexico City.
On October 15 and 16, “Latam Mobility: Mexico 2024” will be held at the World Trade Center in Mexico City, where leaders and representatives from the public sector will gather to present perspectives on sustainable mobility, electromobility and sustainability.
