In an effort to ensure that electromobility reaches regions outside Santiago de Chile, the country’s authorities began a crusade to encourage the regions to receive the same support as the great metropolis.
In this sense, the government presented a schedule of initiatives with the aim of encouraging citizens to join the race for the decarbonization of the vehicle fleet.
Among the proposals are “Mi Taxi Eléctrico Convocatoria 2024”, a project focused on promoting sustainable mobility in the regions.
It is an initiative implemented by the AgenciaSE and the Ministry of Energy with funding from the Regional Governments. Applications are open for Antofagasta, Atacama, O’Higgins and RM.

+Electric Transport Contest
This initiative consists of a co-financing for the purchase of an electric vehicle and residential charger, including its installation, with amounts between $15,000,000 and $19,000,000.
It is part of the GEF7 Electromobility Project financed by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), implemented by the UN Environment Program and executed by AgenciaSE, with the support of the Ministry of Energy.
It is aimed at any natural or legal person who owns at least one urban taxi-collective and is a resident of one of the following municipalities: Antofagasta Region: Calama, Antofagasta.
The Chilean government is currently drafting a national plan for cargo infrastructure that should be released by the end of the year.
