Chile: Copec Voltex and Porsche Present Electromobility Corridor

In a strategic alliance between Copec Voltex and Porsche, the initiative that seeks to turn the O’Higgins Region into a benchmark for sustainable tourism and that encourages electromobility is presented through the new Green Corridor that will allow both residents and visitors to enjoy charging stations while enjoying days of rest and vacation.

The project achieved the installation of a network of 10 charging stations for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, strategically located in hotels from the foothills of the Andes Mountains, passing through the vineyards of the Colchagua Valley and reaching the coasts of Pichilemu and Matanzas.

The agreement between Porsche and Copec Voltex aims to boost electromobility in Chile by developing charging infrastructure and promoting the use of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.

Key Partnership

Gabriel Montenegro, Commercial Manager of Porsche Chile, explained that after years of trying to promote electric charging points in public places or in interesting places such as vineyards and restaurants, they were able to achieve this alliance with a local strategic partner such as Copec Voltex.

The idea is to install a network of fast and ultra-fast chargers for this type of vehicles, making it easier and more convenient for their owners to charge their cars throughout the country.

“For our customers we must move forward with electromobility projects to the places where they go. In the O`Higgins Region they have an important number of vineyards, boutique hotels and places that we know our customers visit and the presence of charging points is necessary,” said Montenegro in statements reviewed to El Mostrador.

Andrea Castro, General Manager of Copec Voltex, stressed that having alliances that help to accelerate this electromobility process is fundamental, especially in other regions and in cities other than Santiago.

“In this particular project, the idea is to promote this tour of wineries that is recognized even outside Chile, so that visitors to these wineries can live a more sustainable experience,” adds the executive.

Through its Destination Charging program and in collaboration with Copec Voltex, the German brand already has nine charging points in Chile, located in strategic places.
