Mexico: General Motors Completes Details of the Chevrolet Blazer EV 2025 Produced in the Country

Coahuila, Mexico is experiencing significant growth in the production of electric vehicles. A little more than a year after production of the Chevrolet Blazer EV 2025 electric pickup began at the General Motors complex in Ramos Arizpe, it is now a reality for the domestic and export markets.

Alicia del Valle Soto, Executive Director of the Ramos Arizpe Assembly Plant, announced that production of the Chevrolet Blazer EV electric pickup truck for export began in the third quarter of 2023 and will also be available for sale in the Mexican market before the end of 2024.

In a report by the local media Milenio, it was mentioned that during the first quarter of 2024, production of the Chevrolet Equinox EV electric van also began, for export and for the domestic market; its pre-sale in Mexico began in June and since August it has been available to the public.

Last August, Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas toured the General Motors plant in Ramos Arizpe, where he highlighted Coahuila’s automotive industrial strength, which makes the state the largest producer of both traditional and electric vehicles in Mexico.

The governor highlighted the performance of General Motors workers, whose Ramos Arizpe complex is the largest producer of electric vehicles in the country, strengthening Coahuila’s automotive cluster.

Currently, the Ramos Arizpe complex of General Motors, which produces the largest number of electric vehicles in Mexico, employs 10,000 direct employees working in three shifts and is the fifth in North America to produce electric vehicles, contributing to the company’s vision of achieving a Zero Emissions future, in addition to being the company with the largest supply nationwide with more than 620 suppliers.

On its platform chevrolet.com.mx, the advantages of electromobility offered by the Blazer EV 2025 are described, having the Ultium battery platform, General Motors technology, which allows different configurations regarding charging speeds, range and battery performance.
