The United States and Mexico Confirm Joint Efforts to Promote Mobility and Clean Energies

The U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, Ken Salazar, made a visit to the city of Hermosillo where he met with Alfonso Durazo, Governor of Sonora, and businessmen from both countries.

According to a press release issued by the U.S. Embassy in the capital of Sonora, the diplomat commented on the importance that both border states represent together.

“I recognize the leadership of Governor Alfonso Durazo to unite our nations, particularly with Arizona, through tourism, economic ties, electromobility, clean energy, and education to support the talent of our young people to be the drivers of a brighter future.”

Salazar underscored the importance for both countries of relocating global companies to both sides of the border:

“By doing so, we maximize the benefits arising from T-MEC, nearshoring, reduce lead times, strengthen the ties of border communities and contribute to making North America more competitive.”
He reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to work for the benefit of both nations.

The “Latam Mobility & NetZero Mexico” in Mexico City will bring together the most important companies and leaders in energy, transport, fuels, and mobility to showcase advancements and prospects in the industry in the country, the U.S., and the region.
