Blink Charging and AES Inaugurate Charging Station in El Salvador

Blink Charging, in partnership with AES El Salvador, has inaugurated a new electric vehicle charging station at Plaza Comercial Pasares.

This charging station is the first in the district and is now part of the expanded network of ten commercial chargers installed in 2024, which, along with ten installed in 2023, bring the total to twenty public-access chargers. These strategically located chargers aim to promote sustainable transportation across the country.

Blink Charging and AES El Salvador have opened a new electric vehicle (EV) charging station, aiming to enhance EV users’ confidence by offering more than 300 kilometers of charging points across the country’s West, Central, and East regions. This network allows for seamless travel without concerns about range.

Extensive Network

Currently, AES El Salvador operates a network of 56 charging stations. Of these:

  • 35 stations are designated for its internal EV fleet and are installed within operational facilities.
  • 20 stations are part of the new commercial charging network, established in collaboration with Blink at strategic partner locations.

Additionally, AES’s operational fleet includes 23 electric vehicles. By 2025, AES plans to expand its fleet and continue increasing the number of publicly accessible charging points.

All AES/Blink partnership stations operate under a self-service model. Users can manage their charging sessions via the Blink Charging Mobile app, which allows them to create a profile and add a payment method to charge their EV batteries.
