Zeekr Joins EMA to Strengthen Electric Mobility in Mexico

Zeekr: movilidad eléctrica en México

Electric vehicle manufacturer Zeekr has announced its incorporation into the Electro Mobility Association (EMA) in Mexico, a key organization that brings together industry leaders to promote the transition to zero-emission technologies.

By joining EMA, Zeekr aims to contribute to the goal of making over 50% of passenger vehicle sales in Mexico electric by 2030, thus fostering sustainable mobility in the country.

Zeekr’s integration into EMA aligns with the growing electric mobility market in Mexico, where public policies and private investment are driving the adoption of electric vehicles.

According to recent data, the country is experiencing an expansion in charging infrastructure and an increase in available electrified models—key factors for the sector’s development.

Zeekr’s role in electric mobility in Mexico

Zeekr is a Chinese brand specializing in high-end electric vehicles. Currently, the company offers two models in Mexico:

  • Zeekr 001: A vehicle that combines coupe, SUV, and sedan characteristics, focusing on performance and range.

Additionally, Zeekr has announced the upcoming launch of its new model, the Zeekr 9X, which will make its global debut at Auto Shanghai in April 2025. Its introduction to the Mexican market is scheduled for 2026.

EMA’s role in the energy transition

The Electro Mobility Association works to promote public policies and foster partnerships between the private sector and government authorities to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in Mexico.

Eugenio Grandio, EMA’s president, emphasized that Zeekr’s membership strengthens the country’s electric mobility ecosystem by integrating new manufacturers committed to transportation electrification.

The incorporation of brands like Zeekr reflects the growing interest of the automotive industry in expanding the range of electric vehicle options available in Mexico, in a landscape where government incentives and charging infrastructure continue to evolve.
