ENSA installs electric vehicle charging stations in Panama

estaciones de carga para vehículos eléctricos en Panamá

ENSA, the electricity distributor serving northeastern Panama, is advancing the country’s energy transition by deploying modern electric vehicle charging stations in Panama.

This initiative aligns with regulations from the National Authority of Public Services (ASEP) and aims to accelerate electric mobility adoption through practical and sustainable charging solutions.

Fast-charging stations at strategic urban locations

Among the new charging points, three are located at Town Center Costa del Este—currently the fastest in Panama City.

Each station offers a charging capacity of 120 kW, enabling drivers to reach 80% battery capacity in just 25 minutes. Operating between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., the new infrastructure is designed to foster a robust EV ecosystem in the country.

ENSA has also activated two additional stations: one at the PH ENSA building in Santa María Business District (open until 9:00 p.m.) and another at Galería Mall, across from Dorado Mall, available 24/7. These strategic locations offer convenient access across key areas of the capital.

Digitalized, user-friendly charging experience

Drivers can access the system through the “ENSA Movilidad” mobile app, available in app stores. After registration, users can charge their vehicles for free during the initial phase.

Later, a per-kWh fee will be applied, with payments accepted via credit cards, debit cards, and digital wallets.

Santiago Díaz, ENSA’s CEO, emphasized to La Prensa that the stations are compatible with most electric vehicles, and adaptors for other connector types are readily available in the market.

Partnerships for a more sustainable city

The new stations at Town Center Costa del Este are the result of a strategic alliance between ENSA and the commercial complex.

Michelle Endara, the center’s Commercial Manager, explained that this project promotes environmentally responsible lifestyles and contributes to Panama City’s sustainable development.

Through this effort, ENSA reaffirms its commitment to innovative energy solutions that promote electric mobility and help build a cleaner, fairer future for Panama.
