One of the main novelties that the second edition of the Latam Mobility Virtual Summit in 2021 will have will be the panel called “Efficiency and Profitability: Pillars towards a more sustainable mobility in Colombia”, aimed at highlighting the importance of Natural Gas (NG) in the country, where this hydrocarbon is used by companies such as Vanti, Promigas and EPM to promote more sustainable mobility.
According to the Mining-Energy Planning Unit (Unidad de Planeación Minero Energética, UPME), Colombia has proven NG reserves for at least 9 years and an analysis and exploration process that would increase this figure by approximately a century. These studies allow us to build a future in which Natural Gas for Vehicles is the ideal companion for electric mobility, considering that the emissions of the item are very low in relation to the amount of carbon that comes from diesel.
In this vein, John Ladino, director of Mobility Market at Vanti, will arrive at the Latam Mobility Virtual Summit: Colombia, Central America and the Caribbean to talk about current trends in vehicles dedicated to NGV, sustainable economies with biogas as motor fuel and hydrogen generated from NG.
In addition to Ladino, Promigas’ vice president of distribution business, Wilson Chinchilla, will accompany the panel to present the environmental and economic reasons that support the use of NGV, as well as its prospects in large cities of the nation such as Bogotá, Barranquilla and Medellin.
For his part, EPM’s Gas Vice President, Carlos Orduz Aguilar, as part of his speech, will highlight some of the strategic projects based on NGV in the short, medium and long term in the coffee country.
Claudia Castro, VP of Logistics and Distribution at Huevos Kikes will be in charge of validating and exposing the benefits of Natural Gas Vehicles, in a country where, according to studies carried out by the National Institute of Health, around 10 thousand people a year due to problems related to air quality.
The event will be completely open to the public and will take place in two days divided between June 9 and 10, under the main objective of Latam Mobility, which is based on offering free and quality content to the entire region in order to promote more sustainable mobility.
