In the midst of the vital relations between the public and private sectors, sport also serves as a platform to promote sustainable mobility, due to its great influence and mass reach.

In this sense, Futbol Club Barcelona and the Barcelona City Council launched a joint campaign in which they are committed to the use of public transport to get to the Montjuïc Stadium, in view of the matches of the 2023/24 season.

Under the slogan “The mobility of the future, we already have it here“, Barca, with the collaboration of the public entity, encourages fans to use the different options to get to the perimeter of the Montjuïc mountain, and once there, to get to and from the stadium quickly and sustainably, avoiding traffic congestion.

FC Barcelona wishes to show its commitment to sustainability, and in the context of its imminent move to the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, the club is firmly committed to the use of public transport to get to the stadium.

The messages accompanying the designs explain the best options for access, either to the perimeter of the mountain by metro or bus or, once from Montjuïc, with the use of the funicular or on foot.

“To the Stadium with less congestion and more speed”, “To the Stadium with less private vehicles and more public transport”, “To the Stadium with less emissions and more health”, “To the Stadium with less traffic jams and more fluidity” . The intention is to make fans aware of the wide range of possibilities to move around in a friendly way.

Barça and Barcelona City Council have developed and agreed on a Mobility Plan in which the emphasis is on providing a fast and quality service to fans who come to the Lluís Companys Stadium, or in the near future, to the remodeled and more sustainable Spotify Camp Nou.

The campaign is already visible on the streets of the city of Barcelona, before the team plays the Joan Gamper Trophy on August 8, the Culé’s first match at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, their temporary home until November 2024, while work progresses on the Spotify Camp Nou, as part of the Espai Barça project.
