Blink Charging published a report outlining its perspectives regarding the massification of electromobility and projections in this area for 2024.
The company highlights that with the increasing presence of electric vehicles on roads and cities in Latin America, it is evident the growing acceptance of electromobility as the way to the future in the field of sustainable mobility.
Blink points out that during the first half of last year, there was a substantial growth in the sales of electric vehicles in Latin America.
Increase by Country
Mexico experienced an increase of 30%, Chile recorded an accumulated increase of 17% between January and April, while Ecuador and Uruguay stood out with a growth of 80% and 68% respectively in the first four months of the year.
These figures reflect a marked trend in the adoption of electric vehicles in the region.
Both drivers and automakers are looking to reduce their environmental impact by promoting electric vehicle options at competitive prices.
In addition, Latin American governments are promoting projects for sustainable cities and green development, offering incentives to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles.
Charging infrastructure growth
Charging infrastructure plays a key role in the growth of Electromobility in Latin America.
Although it has not yet reached the levels of development seen in countries in Europe or the United States, where there were around 160,000 EV chargers at the beginning of 2023, a considerable increase in charging stations is projected for the coming years in the region.
This growth is not only attributed to companies dedicated to the production or distribution of infrastructure individually, such as Blink Charging, but also to greater collaboration between automakers, energy and technology providers.
