Chevrolet, a global brand of General Motors, confirms a significant expansion of its electrification strategy in the Brazilian market during 2026, with a launch schedule that includes electric and hybrid models aimed at consolidating its presence in the sustainable mobility segment and bringing consumers closer to more efficient and less polluting technologies.
According to information released by GM‘s subsidiary in Brazil, the brand anticipates that most of its launches planned for 2026 will include electrified options, reflecting a strategic commitment to more efficient solutions than traditional internal combustion engines.
This change responds to the dynamic growth in demand for electrified vehicles in the country and the development of technologies that reduce battery costs and improve consumer access to more sustainable models.
According to Chevrolet Brazil, “the electrified vehicle category is the fastest growing in the country, driven by greater product availability and lower costs for electric propulsion systems.”
“This reinforces Chevrolet‘s strategy of making electrification accessible and democratic, with the confidence of a company with more than 100 years of history in Brazil, offering innovation, safety, and an extensive service network throughout the country,” the company added.

Electrified Models Set to Mark 2026
As part of its electrification expansion plan, Chevrolet plans to introduce around four models with electrified powertrains to the Brazilian market this year. Among them are:
The Chevrolet Captiva PHEV (plug-in hybrid), which will complement the 100% electric version of the Captiva SUV, already announced for the local market. This new vehicle combines a combustion engine with plug-in electric propulsion, offering a plug-in hybrid version that could travel up to 1,100 km on a single cycle before requiring recharging or fuel, according to specialized media.
The Captiva, which returns to Chevrolet‘s portfolio after years of absence in Brazil, was anticipated in hybrid and electric versions for 2026, and is part of direct competition with other electrified SUVs such as the BYD Song Plus and the Haval H6, which are already on the road in the region with similar technologies.

In addition to the Captiva PHEV, Chevrolet plans to introduce hybrid variants of models well known to the Brazilian public. Among these, press reports indicate that hybrid versions of the Tracker and Montana are in development with an expected arrival date during the year, as part of a broader electrification package within the brand’s portfolio.
Although GM Brazil has not yet released detailed technical specifications on these hybrid engines, industry sources indicate that the new products will incorporate mild-hybrid and PHEV solutions, which will reduce fuel consumption and emissions without sacrificing the performance and everyday usability expected by Brazilian consumers.

Local Production and Industrial Strengthening
Chevrolet has also designed a strategy to strengthen local production of electrified vehicles in Brazil.
At the end of 2025, the brand began assembling the electric Chevrolet Spark EUV at the Comexport PACE plant in Ceará, marking an important milestone in the domestic production of electric vehicles and laying the foundation for future production lines for models such as the Captiva EV and its electrified variants.
This industrial push includes not only the expansion of facilities, but also the training of local suppliers and the creation of jobs around an automotive industry more oriented towards innovation and sustainability.
The decision to electrify a large part of its range in Brazil responds to global and local trends, where the electrified vehicle segment continues to expand strongly.

With this initiative, Chevrolet seeks to position itself not only as a relevant brand for the traditional consumer, but also as a key player in the transition to cleaner and more efficient mobility, adaptable to both cities and the country’s extensive routes.
With these steps, Chevrolet reinforces its commitment to the future of mobility in Brazil and Latin America, integrating technologies that combine energy efficiency, connectivity, and accessibility, without losing sight of adapting its offering to the needs of a constantly changing market.
