BYD and French fleet management and car leasing firm Ayvens have signed an agreement to promote the Chinese manufacturer’s electric vehicles in Europe.

With the pact, Ayvens’ local and international corporate clients in the old continent will gain access to customized electric vehicle fleet solutions, from advisory services and operating leases to end-to-end charging services, for BYD’s entire range of electric vehicles.

Ayvens will also provide white-labeled full-service leasing services to SMEs and individuals through BYD’s dealer network.

Operational leasing services will initially be available in France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, with the firm anticipating further expansion into other European markets.

In addition, both companies have expressed their desire to actively explore more opportunities in the retail sector, further developing white-label operating lease cooperations, to encourage the transition to electric mobility in Europe, BYD said in a statement.

In that regard, BYD President Wang Chuanfu noted that globally, BYD’s innovation in sustainable technology is inspiring the future of mobility and delivering exceptional electric vehicle experiences, while meeting targets to help reduce carbon emissions.

Market Leadership

BYD posted a 21% increase in electric vehicle sales in Q2 2024, closing the gap with Tesla after handing back the title of the world’s top EV seller to its U.S. rival in Q1.

The Asian brand sold 426,039 electric vehicles in the April-June quarter.

This is nearly 18,000 fewer vehicles than Tesla’s vehicle deliveries in the second quarter, but much less than the gap of more than 86,000 in the previous quarter.
