VEMO and BYD inaugurated in Mexico the GBT standard charging station, which includes fast charging ideal for users of the Chinese manufacturer, derived from their strategic agreement to continue accelerating the clean mobility ecosystem in the country.
The agreement represents a new step to expand high utilization charging hubs operating in Mexico City where VEMO operates its charging network called VEMO Charging Network (VCN), the most robust and reliable network; in addition to its fintech and fleet divisions, focused on providing a comprehensive electric mobility ecosystem that results in cleaner air in cities.
This inauguration underscores VEMO’s commitment to strengthen its public charging network in the country, with the goal of having more than 1,000 chargers by the end of 2024.

Roberto Rocha, Co-Founder and CEO of VEMO, noted that the company maintains a collaborative approach to accelerate the penetration of clean mobility in Mexico.
“This hub is the first of several that we will develop in alliance with BYD, with whom we have a strategic and complementary relationship, both in electric vehicles and in the development of charging infrastructure,” he said.
For his part, Germán Losada, Co-Founder, President and COO of VEMO, assured that they are committed to continue developing the most robust and reliable recharging network in the country, democratizing access to the essential infrastructure for the advancement of electromobility.
“To achieve this we carry out alliances with companies that have a real commitment to the decarbonization of the environment, adding more recharging centres that give more options to the market to join the electrification,” he added.
Along the same lines, Jorge Vallejo, General Manager of BYD Mexico, stated that the objective is to promote electromobility in Mexico through the strategic installation of chargers at key points in cities.
“Enabling chargers in shopping malls is a plus so that BYD users can relax while waiting for their vehicle to be charged; in addition, we chose crowded areas to facilitate access,” he said.
