Chile: Enel X and Public Sector Inaugurate First Charging Center in Las Condes

Enel X inaugurated the Las Condes Electro Station, the first charging center for electric vehicles that is located in a 100% public space, allowing charging for all types of vehicles.

The strategic alliance between Enel X and the Municipality of Las Condes allows to have this universal charging center, offering approved connectors for all adaptations that exist in Chile in terms of electromobility.

The new charging center, which is already operational and works 24 hours a day, seven days a week, has five double fast chargers and one double socket slow charger.

Boosting the Transition

The electro-station represents a new milestone for Santiago, which consolidates its position as the second city in the world, after Seoul in South Korea, with the highest number of public chargers in relation to its circulating vehicle fleet.

It is worth mentioning that this new charging hub will have the different connections for electric cars that exist in our market, in a space designed to serve 10 vehicles simultaneously.

The initiative carried out by Enel X Mobility and the Municipality of Las Condes increases the electric charging infrastructure available in the heart of the commune and a few meters from Green Park, the largest electromobility hub in Latin America, located in the parking lots of the Parque Arauco mall.

Jean Paul Zalaquett, Electromobility Manager of Enel X, pointed out that this new milestone that facilitates and brings electromobility closer to the citizens, adding to a wide network of public electric charging, allows the transition towards a clean transport that advances with concrete works and that are multiplied throughout the country.

Along the same lines, Mayor Daniela Peñaloza assured that it is no coincidence that the first public electric station in the country will be installed in Las Condes.

“We are very proud of the steps we have taken in the construction of a commune increasingly avant-garde in the use of clean energy, our commitment to the care of the environment has allowed us to be part of the Energy Commune Program,” she explained.
