An example of the above, Changan explains, is the development of 56 laboratories and 300 sets of equipment specialized in new energy, where the main purpose is to have a global pattern with different approaches in research and development (R&D).

The development centers are concentrated in different cities around the world, such as Chongqing, Nanjing, Turin, Birmingham and Detroit, in order to accelerate the creation of new technologies and key components for the industry.

Starting Point in Mexico

During the presentation of the new Deepal brand in Mexico, Max Song, General Manager of Changan Mexico, commented that the establishment of the firm in Mexico marks Changan’s long-term development in the region, confidence and determination to create harmony.

“We are willing to be the promoter of friendly cooperation between Chinese and Mexican companies, providing customers with more products and better service guarantees, as well as working together to promote the development of high quality within the automotive industry in Mexico,” he explained.

Changan plans to introduce nine models in different segments during the remainder of the year, five of which will be sustainable energy vehicles and the remaining four with combustion engines.

By 2027, the portfolio will grow with an expansion of 11 gasoline vehicles and 14 more new energy vehicles. In addition, the company established three key centers in Mexico: a 5,000-square-meter parts center, a call center and a training center, which will improve the quality and speed of customer service.
