Through the “My Electric Taxi” program of Chile’s Ministry of Energy, drivers can obtain significant financing for electric vehicles.
The Energy Sustainability Agency sponsors this plan that seeks to provide concrete support so that owners of basic cabs and urban buses can change their work vehicles for an electric one, with a co-financing of 12 million and up to 16 million pesos for the acquisition of electric cars.
In its first stage, the program achieved the replacement of 50 combustion vehicles used as basic cabs for electric vehicles in Santiago, including the delivery and installation of a residential charger in the home at zero cost for the beneficiary.
The second version of the Mi Taxi Eléctrico program is currently being implemented and provides benefits for up to 80 basic cabs, executive cabs or urban collective cabs. As a novelty, the regions of Valparaíso, Metropolitana, Biobío, La Araucanía, Los Ríos and Aysén were included.
