The monthly report of the National Federation of Entrepreneurial Merchants (Fenalco) and the National Association of Industrialists (ANDI) reported that sales of low-emission vehicles.
In August 2024, the sale of electric vehicles (EV) grew 128 % compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 664 units sold.
In terms of cumulative growth so far this year, the figures show an increase of 81.1 % with 3,842 units.

Contrast in Months
According to the guild, July has been the month with the highest number of electric vehicles sold in 2024, with 778 units, while January recorded the lowest number of sales with only 217 vehicles.
Historically, June, July and August are the months with the highest sales of electric vehicles, according to the bulletin released by the guilds.
On the other hand, hybrid vehicles are also capturing an important part of the market.
This technology combines a traditional internal combustion engine with an electric motor, which allows for greater fuel efficiency and a reduction in polluting gas emissions.
In August 2024, hybrid vehicle sales in Colombia increased by 46% compared to August 2023, with a total of 3,656 units sold.
This result marks a monthly record for this type of vehicle in 2024. From January to August, the hybrid vehicle market has shown solid growth, with a cumulative increase of 42.4%.
