The Hippodrome de Chile inaugurated its new intelligent lighting system on the most important day of the year, where the classic St. Leger, the second stage of the Triple Crown of Chilean horse racing, is being held.
Enel X and Signify replaced the lighting of the race tracks of the venue located in the Independencia district, incorporating efficient technology and better lighting quality, which will contribute to generate a better sporting spectacle for the attendees and a benefit for television broadcasting for national horse racing lovers.
The new lighting allowed the more than 40,000 people who attended the St. Leger, to live an immersive experience for their fans, through a new control system to manage the efficiency of consumption of the lights, which is operated remotely, allowing energy savings between races.
Technology
As detailed by Revista de Chile, the sports lighting project executed at Hipódromo Chile endowed its facilities with electrical infrastructure and high-efficiency intelligent lighting, thanks to the implementation of 424 energy-efficient LED luminaires that enable savings of up to 70% in their operation, by means of an intelligent control and management system.
The total power installed in the track will be 585 kW, generating a unique lighting quality provided by the flagship luminaires of the Arena Vision LED Gen 3 series, which stand out for their proven efficiency and performance.
The new luminaires interact with Signify’s Interact Sports scene management system, which has the ability to integrate with multiple Internet of Things (IoT) sensors, enabling real-time operation in stadiums and sports venues, offering a new and revolutionary experience when witnessing events and shows.
Some of the attributes of this cutting-edge technology are the creation of dynamic scenes, lighting displays, power alternation and modulation, monitoring and management of the lighting system from a selected control point and, above all, high quality visualization of the races.
