Enel X Opens Electric Vehicle Charging Car Park in Peru

Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP) inaugurated the Eco Parking BCP, its first parking lot for charging electric vehicles through solar panels, implemented together with Enel X Perú.

The technology behind the Eco Parking BCP, installed at BCP’s headquarters, generates clean energy that will be used by the financial institution and its employees to charge electric vehicles.

The objective of the installation is to reduce the use of energy from non-renewable sources. This joint work with Enel X is part of BCP‘s sustainability strategy to achieve carbon neutrality in its operations by 2032.

Pilar Matto, General Manager Enel X Perú, expressed her enthusiasm for this initiative, stating that in the proposal for Banco de Crédito del Perú, they share an innovative vision.

“The installation of solutions such as solar parking lots, not only promotes the adoption of electric transportation and energy production for self-consumption, but also highlights the commitment that we both companies have with sustainability and the transformation of the business sector to address environmental challenges,” she stressed.

For his part, Jorge Arrunátegui, BCP Sustainability Leader, pointed out that the entity has sustainability as a fundamental pillar in its strategy and operations.

“The inauguration of the Eco Parking BCP aims to promote sustainable mobility among our employees and inspire our customers to develop similar initiatives to promote a more sustainable and responsible future,” he explained.

In addition, Arrunátegui highlighted that the project is complemented by other energy eco-efficiency actions such as the gradual renewal of the vehicle fleet towards fully electric vehicles.
