Enel X Signs Agreement with Petrobras for Charging Stations

Enel X and Petrobras Chile signed an agreement that will allow the implementation of different public fast-charging points in Petrobras’ service station network throughout the country.

Petrobras has two service stations with operational fast-charging points and around 24 service stations that are in the execution stage.

Among the long-term goals, it is expected to have at least 150 service stations with public charging points by 2025.

Strengthening relationships

According to data reviewed in Revista Chile, as part of the agreement, during 2023, 13 Charging Hubs were incorporated throughout the country, which have three charging points available, with a power of 22 kW and 60 Kw, providing a wide charging alternative to electric vehicle users.

The alliance between both companies considers the incorporation, by 2024, of more than 7 Charging Hubs, which can charge up to 150 kW.

Carlos Larraín, General Manager of Esmax, Petrobras‘ licensee in Chile, said that more than 10 years ago, Petrobras Chile was the first to inaugurate a charging point to promote electromobility.

“Today we are committing to encourage fast-charging points all over Chile, from Arica to Tierra del Fuego, because our goal is to be close to the communities all over the country, to promote electromobility and clean energies, to reduce the carbon footprint, and to make our service stations a meeting point for the community,” he said.

For his part, Enel X‘s Electric Mobility Manager for Latin America, Jean Paul Zalaquett, highlighted that each of the electric chargers that are being incorporated in the country with strategic alliances such as the one with Petrobras, bring us closer to the goal of having 1,200 chargers installed by 2026.

“We are committed to having electric chargers every 60 kilometers and agreements like today’s contribute to reaching that goal and connecting the entire country through electromobility,” he added.
