EPM opened a new public charging station for electric vehicles in Medellín, as part of its objectives to promote electromobility.
The new station, Los Álamos, is located at the intersection of Carrera 52 Carabobo and Calle 65, El Chagualo sector.
According to EPM, Los Alamos becomes the 20th public charging station under its care to serve nearly 3,000 of its customers linked to this service.
Key Locations
The company explained that the stations are located in strategic points such as shopping malls, parks and service stations, among others, which allow charging the vehicle in periods of time between 20 minutes and 2 hours, space that owners can take advantage of to carry out other activities.
In addition, the company has 170 customers linked to the internal charging service, which enables users to charge their vehicles in private areas, such as residences, businesses or industries, during periods in which the vehicle remains parked.

In this regard, Fabio Rivera, Manager of Commercial Offerings of EPM, said that they have achieved a milestone in sustainable mobility that allows charging about 8,000 vehicles.
“Today in the city there are more than 5,000. That is why we are the city after Bogota with more plug-in hybrid vehicles,” he said.
For his part, Fabian Quintero, President of Tax Individual, stressed that with these efforts of the owners to buy the vehicles, the companies that join this and those of EPM for installing solutions like this, the city is the winner, because this way it is possible to achieve a healthy and sustainable environment.
The promotion of electric mobility has generated that in the Aburrá Valley an equivalent of 64 million “green” kilometers have been traveled and the emission of 1.1 million kilograms of CO2 into the atmosphere has been avoided.
