EPM maintains a sustainability strategy that is being expanded and strengthened in Latin America. Mario Naranjo, General Manager of EPM Guatemala, emphasized that sustainability is one of the fundamental pillars of the company’s strategy.
In a conversation with Diario Responsable, he pointed out that one of the company’s pillars is “to contribute to the harmony of life for a better world”.
Through that vision, EPM, Naranjo assures, builds its strategy based on values such as warmth, responsibility, and especially transparency.

“This commitment to transparency is fundamental for us because we are committed to all our stakeholders,” he added.
Mobility
Regarding sustainable and electric mobility, EPM considers itself a key link in the electromobility ecosystem in Guatemala.
“We have a network of charging stations, and recently, we have seen a change in the market with the arrival of brands that previously had no presence in the country,” commented Naranjo.
He also highlighted interesting projects in the pipeline in Guatemala, such as the implementation of a 100% electric metro route, an ambitious bet by the municipal government.
EPM has also worked on micro-mobility initiatives, such as scooters and skateboards, and provides advice on these issues.
Naranjo noted that in Guatemala there is already a specific hourly rate for charging electric vehicles, and EPM is committed to renewing its fleet to be all-electric, as part of its goal of achieving emissions neutrality.
