Evergo Inaugurates Charging Station in Partnership with Marítima Dominicana

Marítima Dominicana (Mardom), in alliance with Evergo, inaugurated the first charging station for electric vehicles in the entire Haina logistics zone, powered by 100% renewable energy.

According to Diario Libre of the Dominican Republic, it is a Level 2 double charger, designed to charge two vehicles simultaneously, located in Mardom’s facilities for the use of its visitors during their operating hours.

As the first company of its kind to have an Evergo station, this infrastructure ensures that electric vehicle users can follow an eco-friendly route in a key area, marking a significant step forward in promoting the adoption of electric vehicles in the logistics sector.

Personalities

The activity was attended by the main executives of both companies. On behalf of Mardom, Gustavo Tavares, President of the group, and Roberto Herrera, Country Manager in the Dominican Republic of InterEnergy Group, Evergo’s parent company.

Executives from both companies also participated in the event, who jointly valued the importance of promoting sustainable and cutting-edge business practices.

Tavares said that with this type of initiative, Mardom reaffirms its commitment to the sustainable development of the country, and at the same time, contributes to the electric mobility of its customers.

This alliance adds to the efforts of strategic initiatives, such as the photovoltaic park located on the roof of the Haina terminal, which generates more than 1 MW, representing 40% of the electrical energy required by the company and which in turn feeds the Evergo station with renewable energy.
