FOTON‘s high technology has been recognized by the world’s leading authorities. The German certifying company TÜV Rheinland, specialized in testing and inspection, awarded the FOTON iBlue truck the distinction of Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA).
The certificate is obtained by complying with the high regulatory standards of the European Union, allowing it to be exported to countries and regions belonging to the 27-member bloc.
According to a press release from the brand, the FOTON iBlue underwent more than 30 element tests for the WVTA certificate, such as electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), electrical safety, noise, vibration and harshness (NVH), lane departure warning and advanced emergency braking.

A feature of FOTON‘s iBlue line is that it uses the high-capacity, energy-dense electric battery from CATL, the world’s largest battery company, as well as a PMSM (permanent magnet synchronous motor).
It has the ability to fully meet the technical requirements for 0 to 30 km/h start acceleration, 30 to 50 km/h overtaking acceleration, and uphill starting capability.
Its advanced braking energy recovery strategy as well as the ECO driving mode that adapts to different driving conditions provides greater efficiency and 10% more range.
The entire vehicle was subjected to rigorous testing of the battery, motor and electronic control system, as well as more than 800 static inspections.
The low-temperature range attenuation rate is less than or equal to 35%, and the strong environmental adaptability also improves the vehicle’s operating efficiency. And after 100,000 km of endurance tests have been completed, the vehicle’s overall safety is also guaranteed.
In addition to the electric trucks, FOTON‘s all-electric buses were already certified with the WVTA and started operating in New Zealand in April this year.
