Future Engineers Learned About Electric Vehicles at Porsche Center Puerto Rico

Closing out 2024, the Porsche Center Puerto Rico hosted its “Técnico por un Día” program, aimed at students from the Racing Engineering College at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus (RUM).

The main goal of this activity was to provide over 60 aspiring engineers with a hands-on experience in hybrid and electric vehicle technologies.

During the event, Porsche AG-certified technicians delivered an in-depth overview of the differences between conventional hybrid and plug-in vehicles, as well as the basics of these technologies and the transition toward fully electric cars.

A Unique Learning Opportunity

Students had the chance to work directly with Porsche equipment and workstations, engaging with detailed presentations on electric motors and gaining a deeper understanding of the components and operation of advanced propulsion systems.

Orlando Pérez, General Sales Manager at Porsche Center Puerto Rico, stated: “We are thrilled to provide this learning platform for the talented students of RUM, who are at the forefront of automotive engineering.”
