Geely Closes First Half With Record Growth in Mexico and Historic Global Sales

Geely

Geely Auto Mexico reported first-half results that underscore the brand’s growing footprint in the country’s automotive market. Between January and June 2026, the company sold 23,121 units—up from 6,596 during the same period in 2025—a 250.5% increase, according to the official report from Mexico’s National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).

This performance confirms the brand’s upward trajectory in Mexico, where it ranked in the monthly Top 10 several times during the first half. Geely has positioned itself as one of the most dynamic players in the Mexican automotive industry, as Chinese brands continue to gain ground with triple-digit growth.

The brand’s local lineup includes combustion models like the Monjaro 2025 and Cityray, as well as the Geely EX5, which is part of its broader electrification strategy. The company projects it will reach 100 dealerships nationwide by the end of 2026, a goal aimed at improving coverage and deepening its presence across the country.

Overseas Sales Exceed Full‑Year 2025

One of the most notable milestones of the period was the performance in international markets. Sales outside China reached 474,228 units between January and June 2026—a 158% jump compared to the same period in 2025. This figure is especially significant because it already surpasses Geely Auto’s total international sales for all of 2025.

In June 2026, overseas sales broke the 100,000‑unit mark in a single month for the first time, setting a new monthly record for the company’s international business. Exported New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) reached 277,189 units, with year‑over‑year growth of 585%, driven by models such as the Geely EX5 and the Geely EX2.

The Geely EX2 debuted this year in Uruguay and Brazil and is scheduled for local production through the Renault Geely do Brasil joint venture. Brazil has consolidated itself as a standout market for this model. Meanwhile, the Geely EX5 has already been introduced in more than 20 European countries.

Europe was a key driver of this expansion: the Geely brand entered seven European markets in just 45 days, including Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, and France. At the same time, the company strengthened its distribution network through alliances with leading dealer groups in Portugal, Austria, and Switzerland.

Lynk & Co and Zeekr Gain Global Ground

Lynk & Co accelerated its international expansion with the launch of the flagship Lynk & Co 900 in the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Qatar, and Vietnam, while the Lynk & Co 08 was launched in Kazakhstan. The latter model positioned itself as the best‑selling plug‑in hybrid (PHEV) in its segment in both Vietnam and Mexico.

Zeekr surpassed 800,000 cumulative deliveries worldwide. In Hong Kong, the Zeekr 7X led the luxury SUV segment, and the brand captured a 40.7% share of the high‑end vehicle market during the first five months of the year. In Mexico, the Zeekr 7X ranked as the best‑selling luxury EV in April and May, while in Thailand, the Zeekr 009 became the most popular electric MPV of the period.

To support its international growth, Geely Auto expanded its global parts distribution network to 13 centers and advanced localized manufacturing in key markets such as Brazil and Indonesia. The company currently operates with more than 2,000 sales and service points in over 100 markets.

These investments reinforce Geely Auto’s long‑term commitment to delivering localized products, services, and experiences for its customers around the world. The company, headquartered in Hangzhou, China, is part of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group.
