San Luis Potosí, Mexico, continues to move towards the integration of sustainable technologies in the mobility industry, through public policies that promote electromobility.
The Head of the Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedeco), Jesús Salvador González Martínez, announced that this is a historic opportunity to reaffirm the growth that San Luis Potosí has experienced in its quest to transform the manufacturing plant and consolidate its position as a benchmark for innovation in North America.
He added that Governor Ricardo Gallardo is promoting initiatives to make the transition a success with examples such as the production of electric batteries at BMW Group’s San Luis Potosí plant, becoming the first premium automaker in Latin America to venture into electric vehicles, and providing more support to the people of San Luis Potosí in the four regions to access more jobs.

He said that a National Electromobility Plan will be key to guarantee investments, reduce transportation emissions and position Mexico as a benchmark in sustainability, addressing challenges such as strengthening the legal framework and developing national strategies for this transition.
