Today’s electric vehicle technology is so powerful that it can power the electric grid in homes. Manufacturers such as General Motors are presenting innovations that serve as a great source of energy for homes.
The system allows the vehicle to be connected to the electrical network of homes and work as a generator, supplying power during a blackout or even at times when the service rate is more expensive.
In addition, owners will be able to store solar or wind energy in their car batteries during the course of the day and use it at night.

General Motors reported that the features will initially be incorporated by the new Silverado EV 2024 and then will reach the rest of the Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac electric portfolio along with Ultium Home and GM Energy Cloud software, which control the flow of energy from the vehicle to the home and vice versa.
Wade Sheffer, GM Energy VP, explained that by integrating V2H across the Ultium-based portfolio, they are making innovative technology available to more consumers, with benefits extending well beyond the vehicle itself and on a broader scale.
Introduced in early 2022, the Silverado has the identity features of other brand trucks, especially in the front end.
Like the GMC Hummer EV or the Blazer EV, it is developed on GM’s Ultium platform, inheriting other systems such as four-wheel steering or adaptive air suspension.
Inside, the electrified Silverado is committed to a much more modern and technological style. The dashboard stands out for the two huge 11- and 17-inch screens for the instruments and multimedia system, with the air vents located below.

The steering wheel, however, is quite similar to that of the Onix or Tracker. GM also highlights its advanced software provided by Linux, which will allow remote updates and will allow it to evolve over time.
In addition to the power it will provide to hohars and its great internal and external attributes, the pickup offers user experiences such as the inclusion of a greeting when approaching the pickup with the key or from a smartphone.
It also features the Super Cruise autonomous driving system, adapted to work with trailers and which can already be used on several highways in the United States and Canada.
