General Motors, through its Chevrolet brand, is working towards the transformation towards electric mobility in Colombia. The company’s roadmap includes the updating of its portfolio of electric vehicles with state-of-the-art technology.
According to a report by the Bogota Chamber of Commerce referred to by “Valora Analitik” in a review, there is a 25% increase in the adoption of electric vehicles in this sector by 2023.
This growth is driven by government incentives and corporate sustainability programs, in which General Motors also plays an active role by promoting the incorporation of this type of vehicles in corporate fleets.

Currently, the Chevrolet Bolt EUV stands out as an ideal option within GM’s offer in Colombia. Available in more than 15 cities in the country, this electric SUV combines sustainability and practicality with a 65.0 kWh battery pack that ensures a range of 456 kilometers.
It also includes a dual 110V and 220V charger, providing a convenient alternative for home charging.
It is important to highlight that the Chevrolet Bolt EUV has become the first certified zero-emission vehicle in Bogota without any mobility restrictions, thanks to the EVA program of the District Environment Secretariat.
In the second half of this year, GM will expand its electric vehicle portfolio in Colombia with the introduction of the Chevrolet Equinox EV and Chevrolet Blazer EV.
These vehicles, equipped with advanced Ultium technology, recognized for its energy efficiency and extended range, represent an attractive and viable option for Colombian consumers.
In this sense, General Motors recognizes the importance of meeting the specific needs of Colombians in the reality of electric mobility.
One of the most significant challenges is the lack of information about the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, which generates uncertainty among potential users.
The company has implemented more than 30 electric charging stations in Chevrolet dealerships in key cities in Colombia, such as Bogotá, Bucaramanga, Barranquilla, Cali, Ibagué, Cartagena, Medellín, Girardot, Neiva and Villavicencio. This expansion represents an increase of approximately 15% in the availability of charging points nationwide.
