Geotab Achieves 4 Million Connected Vehicles

Geotab announced that it has surpassed 4 million subscriptions globally. This milestone highlights the significant and growing demand for high-quality data intelligence, a critical catalyst for advanced decision making.

Geotab has a 23-year track record and achieved the goal of 3 million subscriptions by 2022. In just over a year, the company added 1 million subscriptions by 2023, reflecting the growing demand for data intelligence to support fleet modernization and management.

Neil Cawse, CEO of Geotab, looked back 23 years ago when they were a company of two operating out of the basement of sy house. “Now, as I reflect on our incredible journey and extraordinary growth over the past 15 months, it’s clear that the potential we saw in this industry all those years ago has been demonstrated.”

“Fleets are under constant pressure to improve their bottom line, reduce emissions, prioritize safety on the road and find cost-effective solutions. We know that you can’t effectively manage what you don’t measure, which is why data and technology have become as vital to organizations as the vehicles they operate,” he explained.

The Geotab executive noted that since reaching 3 million subscriptions last August, Geotab’s connected vehicles have traveled more than 89 billion kilometers, which roughly translates to 594 trips to the sun.

“If we think about all those trips, they equate to massive amounts of data. Because of this, we are able to deliver more impactful insights to our customers,” Cawse said.

“We are informing them that one of their engines may fail before this happens, or the likelihood of a collision. We are incorporating generative AI to reduce reporting time. Through these innovations we are fostering better business decisions and more meaningful outcomes,” added Cawse.

As the number of Geotab‘s connected vehicles of various makes, models and industry sectors continues to grow, the amount of key data the company analyzes also grows.

This expansion allows the company to benchmark with greater accuracy and build enhanced machine learning (ML) models, which in turn enables better analytics for all customers.

Through AI and ML technologies, customers can transition from reactive data insights to predictive analytics and industry benchmarking, generating greater value for their connected transportation investments.
