Geotab and Pirelli Announce Partnership for Fleet Management Technology Tool

With the objective of improving operational efficiency and reducing the environmental impact of fleets, Geotab, a world leader in Telematics, announced a crucial partnership with Pirelli, an Italian industrial company dedicated to tire manufacturing.

Following this partnership, Geotab offers on its Marketplace the CYBER Fleet system, a digital tool dedicated to fleet monitoring and management. This solution was designed to optimize cost management, increase safety and efficiency when it comes to tires, reduce vehicle downtime and CO2 emissions.

In addition, the agreement between Pirelli and Geotab allows users to have optimal control of tire condition, which will be of great help when it comes to increasing productivity and vehicle lifespan.

CYBER Fleet uses a sensor located inside each tire to measure and analyze pressure and temperature data. This information is gathered and transmitted to a smartphone or tablet app, and can also be subsequently sent to Geotab’s digital platform, MyGeotab, which in turn helps simplify daily checks of each truck and its tires.

Integrated Solution

Stefano Peduzzi, VP Technology Solutions & Operations Europe at Geotab highlighted that the addition of Pirelli CYBER Fleet to Geotab’s Marketplace will give fleets access to a safety solution specifically designed to reinforce the good condition of tires and, consequently, greater longevity of their vehicles.

He expressed his satisfaction at offering his customers the best-in-class tire pressure monitoring system, a tool that will help them reduce unexpected tire-related maintenance issues and also increase driving safety and overall efficiency.

For his part, Daniel Gainza, Chief Operating Officer at Pirelli Tyre explained that the technological tool allows tires to be integrated into a service platform based on connectivity and that it can be used in a very simple way. “Hand in hand on this agreement with Geotab, Pirelli is proud to be among the leading solutions for vehicles and fleets in helping to optimize fuel consumption and reduce emissions,” he celebrated.

Both Geotab and Pirelli agree that this integrated system will also allow remote querying of individual vehicle data, which will be of great use to fleet managers in identifying potential faults, with the associated benefit for machine maintenance planning.

This new offering will first be launched in the main European markets, before being expanded to the United States, Canada and Brazil.
