Geotab announced that it has been certified by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 27001, confirming the integrity of its information security management system (ISMS).
The company is ISO 27001 certified for all of its telematics solutions, including the GO Appliance and MyGeotab platform available globally, as well as its four offices in North America.
ISO 27001 is a globally recognized standard that requires numerous controls for the establishment, maintenance and certification of an organization’s ISMS.
The ISMS encompasses all relevant policies and processes for how data is controlled and used within an organization.

Thorough Processes
To obtain certification, Geotab underwent an extensive set of examinations by an external auditor, BSI Group Canada, which confirmed that the company’s ISMS meets the stringent requirements set by ISO.
In that regard, Ryan Brander, AVP, Security at Geotab, noted that the certification reinforces Geotab’s commitment to putting security as a priority.
“Achieving ISO 27001 certification is a reflection of the continued hard work of our security team to help ensure that data protection processes and ISMS operate at a world-class level,” he said.
“With the security of our customers’ information as a priority, we are proud to have achieved ISO 27001 certification for our global telematics solutions and office locations in North America,” Brander added.
According to company figures, Geotab has more than 40,000 customers worldwide, processes more than 40 billion data points every day, and prioritizes the implementation and maintenance of stringent security, technical and organizational measures designed to help keep customer data secure and their privacy protected.
