Geotab sealed an agreement with BYD to integrate its fleet management devices in Europe with BYD Trucks Europe, a division of the Chinese manufacturer.
This collaboration enables BYD Trucks Europe to manage its fleets throughout Europe using the comprehensive connectivity solution offered by Geotab, which helps ensure data privacy and security in the region.
With the pact, BYD’s electric trucks imported into Europe will feature Geotab’s specialized telematics hardware, which collects vehicle data.
Security and Technology
The data with customer consent will be used by BYD Trucks Europe to improve vehicle management, maintenance and service, with the goal of minimizing planned and unplanned downtime.

In addition, BYD Trucks Europe will offer Geotab’s telematics services to its customers, enabling transport companies to access relevant data to improve efficiency, operations, cost management and fleet sustainability.
In that regard, Christoph Ludewig, Geotab’s Vice President OEM Europe, explained that the integration with BYD Trucks Europe underscores the confidence in Geotab’s technology.
