Geotab’s Artificial Intelligence Co-Pilot Breaks Innovation Patterns in Latin America

Pedro Giraldo, Geotab’s Executive for Latin America, talked to Latam Mobility’s team to present the company’s innovations in fleet management and administration.

He referred to the launch of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) co-driver, a tool that is within the fleet management platform. “It’s like having something similar to a chat within the platform, a few months ago we were talking about when they were in beta and today it’s already a reality. It’s already in early adoption and there are customers waiting to be able to use it.”

“The model is much more robust than it was in beta and today I can have a conversation with that virtual co-pilot and ask him what is happening with my fleet and ask him about measurement efficiencies, idling, trend savings and obviously the system is learning and becoming much more accurate,” explained Giraldo.

He detailed that the technology not only delivers results, but also indicates how to get to them. “That’s what’s interesting, it’s not only going to give me something without context, but it’s going to tell me how it found it, it’s something super powerful, it’s a very disruptive change.”

The Key to Data

Giraldo stressed that Geotab is constantly innovating to present clients with explained data with the objective of better decision making.

“It is a model that will improve over time, but also thanks to the more than 4.2 million subscribers we have worldwide, it is a model that is enriched from many sources and calculations of thousands and thousands of data per day,” he said.

Geotab has a Bio telematics system, a technology that goes hand in hand with telematics and provides a much greater context because it brings video and another type of perspective to what is happening with the fleet.

“It allows me to visualize the incidents and also allows me to integrate it with the fleet platform and in a certain way relate the processes, the rules that I have defined for the safety of my fleet,” Giraldo emphasized.

“We are very excited about this and we are promoting it very strongly because I believe that in Latin America, especially in the area of security, we have a lot of opportunity and expectations,” he concluded.
