With the unveiling of two flagship electric vehicles, Hyundai and the Gildemeister Group, an ally of the South Korean brand in Chile, presented the roadmap towards electric mobility.
Called “Progress for Humanity”, the strategy seeks to promote the decarbonization of the vehicle fleet and energy transformation through technology.
Another of the program’s objectives is to create a better future, meeting people’s needs in a sustainable way, focusing on transportation and city design, supported by artificial intelligence and robotization.
In this context, and in the company of the president and CEO of Hyundai Motor Group, Jaehoon Chang, the general manager of Gildemeister Group, Marcello Marchesse launched in Chile the offensive of electrified models ranging from electric cars to hybrids.

The vehicles that will lead the sustainable offensive are the new Tucson HEV and Kona HEV, both hybrid SUVs that will boost the brand’s offer in the segment of low- and zero-emission vehicles.
The Hyundai Kona hybrid has the attributes of offering young people looking for a car with a fresh and sporty design, high-level technological features, excellent performance and an option to reduce carbon emissions.
It is equipped with a 104 Hp combustion engine and a 32 kW electric motor, providing a combined capacity of 139 HP. Thanks to its dual-clutch, six-speed transmission, this compact SUV allows for smooth and quick gear shifting, which increases its efficiency on the road.
In addition, this model has two driving modes to choose from: Eco, to reduce energy consumption, and Sport, capable of exploiting the SUV’s incredible acceleration.
For its part, the Tucson HEV is a fourth-generation hybrid of the line that Hyundai presents in Chile. Equipped with a 178 HP combustion engine and a 59 HP permanent magnet synchronous engine, it is the ideal model for families looking for an SUV with an avant-garde design, practical, balanced, high performance and low emissions.
Like all its predecessors, this hybrid is characterized by being an advanced model, with high technology standards and an attractive design.
As a novelty, this model features a 360° camera and a blind spot monitor. It features SmartSense technology, the driver assistance software of the new Hyundai models that includes front collision avoidance, turning and blind spot assist, cruise control, adaptive cruise control, fatigue detector and lane keeping and lane following.
