Electric and low-emission mobility emerges as a fundamental solution on the road to decarbonization and meeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and Brazil is uniquely positioned to lead the transition.
Faced with these challenges, the most important community on mobility and sustainability in Latin America, Latam Mobility, will present the “Latam Mobility & Net Zero Day Brazil 2024” on July 1 and 2, 2024, in Sao Paulo.
The face-to-face meeting will feature the main representatives of the public sector and leaders of important private companies, who will showcase advances in sustainable mobility in transportation, clean fuels, technological innovations, and the outlook for Brazil and the region.
Progress in Brazil
Recently, Brazil‘s Lower House passed a bill establishing a green innovation and mobility program called “Mover,” an initiative that provides for US$3.67 billion in financial incentives over five years, along with a reduction in the IPI tax on industrialized products.
One of the objectives of the legislation is to encourage research, development of technological solutions and the manufacture of vehicles and motorcycles with lower greenhouse gas emissions.
In addition, Brazil‘s abundance of natural resources, such as its extensive hydroelectric network, and a dynamic and growing renewable energy sector, offer an opportunity to continue diversifying the country’s energy matrix.
Multiple Themes
Latam Mobility‘s “2024 Tour” will feature a series of panels dedicated to specific themes, which seek to highlight the advances, challenges and opportunities in the different sectors that encompass sustainable mobility in each of the countries it visits, and Brazil is part of the vanguard in the region.
Public transportation, the automotive sector, cargo infrastructure, fleet management, finance, clean fuels, and technology will be part of the content to be discussed in different panels made up of leaders of companies and government institutions, who will talk about the challenges and prospects for the country and the region.
In addition, “Latam Mobility & Net Zero Brazil 2024” will feature workshops, specialized content workshops, as well as spaces dedicated to facilitate networking and further promote sustainable mobility in Brazil and the south of the continent.
