Integral Sustainable Mobility Plan: Banco de Bogotá’s Commitment to Electromobility

During the last few years, the Secretariat of Mobility has highlighted Banco de Bogotá for its commitment to sustainable mobility, recognizing its integral plan that promotes environmentally friendly transportation practices.

Currently, through the Integral Sustainable Mobility Plan, 45,000 kilometers of travel using environmentally friendly means of transportation have been recorded, generating savings of $140 million in mobility costs for employees, with 60% of the beneficiaries being women.

In addition, 169,000 carpooling routes have been shared, avoiding the emission of more than 75 tons of CO2, equivalent to the effect of planting 2,300 trees, all thanks to the collaboration of 5,000 teleworking employees and 3,000 active members.

Banco de Bogotá: Beyond the City

The program covers Barranquilla, Cali and Medellín, in addition to its operations center in the Colombian capital. In addition, Banco de Bogotá has installed parking lots, bike-sharing systems, scooter racks and free charging stations for electric vehicles.

“In Colombia, more than 78% of the particle emissions that cause climate change and air pollution come from the more than 15 million vehicles that travel between trucks, buses, cars and motorcycles, according to Greenpeace”, stated Isabel Cristina Martínez, VP of Sustainability and Corporate Services at Banco de Bogotá.

“At the bank we seek to encourage the adoption of clean and efficient mobility alternatives in order to improve people’s wellbeing and reduce the ecological footprint”, she continued.

On the other hand, the financial institution has designed specific credit lines for the acquisition of hybrid and electric vehicles, with financing of up to 100% of the cost of the car, with an additional 10% for accessories.
