Kia Chile and Inversiones Security Launch Electromobility Fund

The support of the public sector with the necessary incentives and the technological deployment of companies is crucial for the development of electric mobility. However, financing and investments represent a sine qua non factor.

Against this backdrop, Kia announced the creation of an investment fund dedicated exclusively to promoting electromobility, which will be managed together with Inversiones Security, which has extensive experience as a fund manager in the financial sector.

The purpose of the Security Electromobility Urban Investment Fund (Niro) is to acquire electric vehicles that will subsequently be managed by Tucar and made available to the Uber platform’s driver-members.

To that end, it will initially have 170 electric units of the recently launched Kia Niro EV, the manufacturer explains in a press release.

With this alliance, Kia Chile and Inversiones Security will support the inclusion of Kia Niro EV electric vehicles in the Uber platform, contributing to the decarbonization of cities.

Kia‘s purpose is to become the main provider of sustainable mobility, through the generation of alliances that allow it to deliver a unique and excellent experience to its customers.

In this sense, Juan Pablo Lira, General Manager of AGF Security, a subsidiary of Banco Security, emphasizes that electromobility will be a trend, which is why they seek to anticipate this new way of moving around.

“This partnership is consistent with the Security Group’s sustainability strategy and with the Responsible Investment Principles (PRI) to which we are signatories. We believe that this investment fund is in line with what our clients are looking for, so we will continue to explore different opportunities to provide them with a comprehensive and sustainable value proposition,” he added.

For his part, Sebastián Russi, CFO of Empresas Indumotora, explained that the creation of this fund responds to Kia Chile’s need to actively participate in the electromobility business.

“We decided to associate with the best partners to make available to Tucar 170 units of 100% electric Kia Niro EV, which will be provided for lease to Uber driver partners,” he said.
