Grupo Soriana announced a strategic alliance with FAZT, a leading company in electric vehicle charging solutions, to create a vast charging network with the installation of 1,000 points in supermarket parking lots by 2030.
According to Mexico Industry, the installation of charging stations will begin gradually, prioritizing stores located in metropolitan areas and regions with a higher number of electric vehicles in circulation.
The stations will be divided into two categories: FAZT, with standard chargers designed for customers who can leave their vehicles connected while shopping.
Additionally, SuperFAZT will feature fast charging stations, strategically located near main entrances, ideal for users needing quick charging.
Cost
According to Mexico Industry, the cost per kilowatt-hour will be 8 pesos, a competitive price aimed at encouraging the use of these charging points.
Currently, Mexico has just over 3,373 public stations, an insufficient number to meet the growing demand from the electric vehicle fleet.
The addition of 1,000 charging stations by Soriana and FAZT will mark a significant milestone, strengthening the existing network and promoting the mass adoption of clean technologies.
The project not only benefits electric vehicle drivers, who will be able to charge their cars while shopping, but also provides significant environmental advantages.
