Mexico: Camargo’s Authorities Present Plan to Electrify Public Fleets

Mexico continues to add initiatives to lead the region in electromobility and sustainable mobility. Jorge Aldana, Mayor of Camargo, reported that he met with the director of the State Energy Agency, with personnel from the State Government’s Ministry of Innovation and Economic Development, to present an electromobility project.

The plan contemplates changing the Public Safety, Traffic and Civil Protection units to electric vehicles. In addition, the possibility of installing a photovoltaic plant in the Public Safety corral to reduce gasoline consumption costs in the municipality was discussed.

According to La Noticia Regional, Aldana mentioned that they are working with several foundations to make this project a reality, and it is expected that in a month or month and a half a new meeting will be held to evaluate the feasibility of including these plans in the next revenue budget.
